One of the most critical operations in coil processing lines is leveling. As materials evolve to meet the demand for lighter, more durable products, the emerging metals are becoming stronger and thinner. AFCO’s new generation of levelers is designed to process steel, aluminum and AHSS. This new generation of cassette levelers is capable of interchanging work roll cartridges with other cartridges of different work roll diameters. Each cassette is designed with a work roll diameter to process specific material properties. This results in increased capacity for a single machine.

With spline connections and hydraulic clamping, cassette changeovers can take less than two minutes and be accomplished without tools.

AFCO’s new generation of Levelers are capable of processing extensive ranges of strengths and thicknesses for Steel, Aluminum and HSS.

4 High, 50mm Cassette For The XLC-HSS Leveler

The 50mm cassette is very well suited for thin, high strength steel. Features of this cassette include:

  • One (1) Four-High Cassette
  • 13 Work Rolls
  • 9 Banks of Cam Follower Backups

There are no full-length intermediate backup rolls in this configuration. Also, the included u-joint shafts drive an intermediate gearbox for direct coupling of all work rolls to the leveler gearbox.
