We offer both Single Mandrel Reel Uncoilers and Double Expanding Mandrel Uncoilers. Each uncoiler design offers both manual and automatic features that include centering, coil load and thread up. Uncoiler designs also provide constant tension control in line run mode.
The DEM Uncoiler features dual expanding uncoiler mandrels that are hydraulic cylinder actuated for expansion /collapse. The mandrel segments are provided with standard urethane pads. Left and right uncoiler housings shift for coil centering via individual hydraulic cylinder actuation with linear absolute encoder electronic position feedback.
Coils can be manually loaded and centered by push button operation or automatically loaded and centered by automatic load and thread-up sequence initiation. The uncoiler is AC servo motor driven for coil jogging, automatic threading and constant tension control during line run. The Uncoiler housings are protected from inadvertent coil lift operation by base mounted spring sensors.
The EDGE Reel Uncoiler is a single mandrel uncoiler featuring outboard support that is hydraulic cylinder actuated for expansion /collapse. Coils can be manually loaded and centered by push button operation or automatically loaded and centered by automatic load and thread-up sequence initiation. The uncoiler is AC servo motor driven for coil jogging, automatic threading and constant tension control in line run. The uncoiler housing is protected from inadvertent coil lift operation by base mounted spring sensors.
The PRO Series Reel Uncoiler includes a hydraulic cylinder for expand/retract. Coils are manually loaded and centered by push button operation of the coil cart.
The hold down roll is attached to the uncoiler housing to contain the outer wrap after loading the coil and is driven with the uncoiler during jog and thread functions. The hold down roll is raised during line run.
A low-level laser sensor is utilized for initial coil OD measurement. The reel uncoiler has an AC back-tension drive for coil jogging, threading, and constant tension control in line run—a drag brake is not utilized. The reel uncoiler mandrel rotation is gear driven. A spring-set/air-release brake prevents coil rotation when power to the drive is off.
